Richard M. Salsman, CFA

Richard is founder, President and Chief Market Strategist of IFI. Prior to founding the firm, he advised institutional investors as senior vice president and senior economist at H.C. Wainwright & Co. Economics, Inc. (1993 to 1999). From 1981-92 Mr. Salsman was a respected banker and capital markets analyst at institutions including Citibank and The Bank of New York.

Mr. Salsman is a noted authority on banking, capitalism, supply-side economics, market price efficiency and objective methods of financial asset forecasting. He is the author of two books, Gold and Liberty (1995) and Breaking the Banks: Central Banking Problems and Free Banking Solutions (1990). Mr. Salsman's work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Barron's, Forbes, Capitalism Magazine and The National Post (Canada). Mr. Salsman lectures widely at investment gatherings and universities such as Harvard, Chicago and Berkeley.

Mr. Salsman received his B.A. in Law and Economics from Bowdoin College (1981) and his M.B.A. in Economics from the Stern School of Business at New York University (1988). In 1993 he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the Association for Investment Management and Research.

As IFI's Data Presentation Specialist, Christine is responsible for the creation of graphics used in publications and client presentations.

Christine holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire, with additional training in SAS from Destiny Corporation.
